NRMCA Producer members MMC Materials and Bayou Concrete are installing the Build with Strength logos on some 50 mixer trucks, reports NRMCA's Michael Wymant. "We think that this effort should be an industry-wide effort. With this thought in mind our companies decided to get people and the construction industry as well as the general public asking questions," said Stanley Mangum, vice president of business development at MMC Materials
In addition to the signage on the mixers, the companies will be distributing T-shirts at their annual safety meetings, followed by a discussion of the importance of the Build with Strength coalition. "We want all our employees to understand the point that they can answer the questions that hopefully arise from people about wood vs. concrete construction," added Mangum.
Build with Strength is a first-of-its-kind program for the concrete industry, designed not only to support our members, their businesses and the hard-working men and women of the concrete industry, but also to change the way people think about concrete construction versus direct competitors like soft-wood lumber.
