The Institute for Transportation at Iowa State University has released a report that discusses strategies for preventing or limiting premature joint deterioration due to salt reactivity and joint saturation. The primary goal is to help concrete pavement engineers understand the causes of premature joint deterioration, focusing on deterioration due to deicing/anti-icing salts and joint saturation.
