NRMCA Senior Director of Local Paving, Ken Justice recently had a breakfast meeting in Springfield, MO, with Concrete Promotion Council of the Ozarks Executive Director Amy Allen and 20 council members. Springfield has continued to view concrete as the pavement of choice for parking lots and roads, headed by the decision of MODOT to begin full depth reconstruction of a 5-lane concrete road right through the heart of Springfield. Justice discussed NRMCA’s Design Assistance Program and Contractor Boot Camp with Allen and her membership.
Attendee Travis Miller, P.E., of Miller Engineering commented, "I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed our breakfast this morning. Thank you to Amy for setting it up. Technology and e-mail communication have done a lot of things to help our industry, but within our company we feel that the personal touch and eye-to-eye communication is one thing that we must preserve at all costs if we are to have successful projects with one another. Today's meeting is a perfect example of that. Thanks to all of you for your comments and opinions and I welcome more of them."
