Maryland Engineers Learn About Concrete Design

NRMCA Senior Director, Local Paving, Ken Justice recently taught a full day concrete pavement design seminar in Jessup, MD.
More than 50 engineers and municipal and public works officials attended;(shown below) topics included definitions of the different types of concrete pavements along with selection criteria, an introduction to the concrete pavement design software packages and a "sneak peek" of the soon-to-be-released unified design software package developed by the NRMCA/ACPA/PCA team. Pavement design project examples were also given. The class concluded with design examples of parking lots, sidewalks, driveways and handicapped ramps as well as troubleshooting and maintenance.
