Print this Article | Send to Colleague

NRMCA Vice President, Local Paving, Don Clem recently conducted a Webinar on concrete overlays for parking lots for Chris Barker, SE, LEED AP, senior structural engineer for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS) in Utah. Clem outlined the history of concrete overlays in the region, project selection criteria and how to use the Guide to Concrete Overlays of Asphalt Parking Lots (funded by RMC Research & Education Foundation). Also attending the meeting at the church's engineering office in Salt Lake City was Clem's NRMCA colleague Patrick Matsche, Brad Stevenson of the Utah Ready Mixed Concrete Association and Mike Smith of NRMCA member Forta Corp. who coordinated the Webinar. NRMCA will work with Mr. Barker to see if a suitable concrete overlay pilot project can be located.
