The Environment and Public Works Committee (EPW) is putting forward legislation to renew the Endangered Species Act (ESA), with an eye to giving states and localities more say and improve the transparency of the listing process. The committee intends for these changes to play a role in contributing to broader efforts to streamline permitting for infrastructure projects. NRMCA joined the Portland Cement Association and the National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association in sending a letter of support to Committee Chairman John Barrasso (R-WY) and the committee’s work on this draft proposal.
