ACI 318 Building Code Now Open for Public Comment

As part of the process of finalizing the 2019 version of ACI 318, Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete and Commentary, the revised Code is posted on the ACI website for public review and comment. ACI Committee 318 will review and respond to the comments before the document is published. The committee may choose to make revisions to the Code based on comments or to defer recommended changes as new business in the next Code cycle.
Chapters 19 and 26 are the primary sections of interest to the ready mixed concrete industry regarding requirements for concrete materials and mixtures. There have been several revisions to these chapters from the 2014 version of the Code and these changes are highlighted in the posted document. The public comment period is for 45 days beginning from December 21. A comment format file is also provided. The ACI 318 document should be saved and opened with the provided password. ACI 318-19 is expected to be published by summer 2019.
