NRMCA Vice President, Local Paving, Don Clem recently joined a host of industry colleagues in Denver at the annual Concrete Day at the Capitol. This year’s event was the first time that Governor Jared Polis was able to address the group; he proclaimed the tenth annual event "Concrete Day at the Capitol." Clem said the event was a resounding success, with more than 500 legislators and staffers on hand to enjoy a barbeque lunch grilled on site, providing concrete industry representatives the opportunity to visit with lawmakers regarding the importance of the concrete industry to the state’s economy.
"The weather for the tenth annual event was absolutely perfect," said Colorado Ready Mixed Concrete Association Executive Director Todd Ohlheiser. "We were very pleased with our member turnout, which ensured an informative experience for lawmakers and we were honored that Governor Polis (shown here being introduced by Angela Folkestad of the American Concrete Pavement Association's Colorado-Wyoming Chapter) took the time to speak at the event, given his busy schedule as the legislature approaches the end of the session next week.”
