NRMCA is bringing the Concrete Design Center to the homebuilding community at the International Builders Show to be held in Orlando from February 8 through 10. The center, a feature of NRMCA’s Build With Strength initiative, offers free design recommendations on how to build with concrete. The NRMCA booth S2800 is right inside the South Hall of the convention center.
NRMCA is a member of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Building Systems Council and helped organize two training programs in the Building Systems Lounge Room W310:
• February 8, 10:30 - 11 a.m. – Making the Switch: The Business Case for Building Concrete Multifamily. Ryan Bedford of Bedford Development will present how he migrated from wood framing to insulating concrete forms (ICFs). Now all their projects are built entirely out of concrete because of consistently faster builds, reduced utilities, quieter apartments, fewer vacancies and greater profitability.
• February 10, 10:30 - 11 a.m. - Ask the Experts: Adopt a Concrete Building System for Your Business. Join us for a roundtable discussion about concrete residential construction. You will hear and ask questions directly from manufacturers, builders and suppliers of various concrete building systems while gaining a comprehensive understanding about adapting this construction method to your business.
There will also be a custom home tour on February 9 from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. See the latest Orlando design trends and techniques that custom builders are advancing in this tour of an evolving market, including concrete building systems. *Tickets are required for this event. $85 per ticket includes transportation, a light breakfast and snacks.
