NRMCA Continues to Advocate for Full Funding of Bipartisan Infrastructure Law

While Congress appears headed for another short-term funding extension, NRMCA and its allies in the transportation construction industry continue to raise awareness of the critical importance of fully funding highway programs in FY2022. Because Congress is operating under a continuing resolution, highway programs are funded at FAST Act levels rather than the higher levels authorized under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) which was signed into law last November. This represents a funding difference of around $9 billion that would be lost without appropriations legislation recognizing the higher level of funding.
NRMCA and its partners at the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) are jointly conducting meetings with members of the House and Senate appropriations committees, highlighting industry support for addressing this funding issue and ensuring that the full benefits of the infrastructure bill are realized. In addition, NRMCA, NSSGA and the Portland Cement Association sent a joint letter to Congress in support of a bipartisan “Dear Colleague” letter in which Reps. Seth Moulton (D-MA) and John Katko (R-NY) urge all Members of Congress to support a fix to this issue.
NRMCA will continue to advocate for this critically important policy.
