First-Ever Concrete Innovations Learning Session Set for Next Week

The first Concrete Innovations Learning Session will be held on Wednesday, April 6, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Eastern time. Sponsored by NRMCA in collaboration with Build With Strength and Pave Ahead, the Concrete Innovations Learning Center will bring practitioners, researchers and policy makers together to exchange the latest ideas, knowledge and tools for sustainable concrete design, construction and manufacturing. Speakers and presentations include the following: 

Top 10 Ways to Reduce Concrete's Carbon Footprint - NRMCA Executive Vice President of Structures and Sustainability Lionel Lemay and NRMCA Director of Building Innovations Brandon Wray will discuss the top 10 strategies to best utilize the benefits of concrete while ensuring a low carbon footprint. 

An Owner’s Perspective: How to be Sustainable without Sacrificing Profit - This presentation by CarbonCure will provide insights on evolving industry leadership, ESG initiatives as a defining characteristic of exceptional companies, how to maximize ROI with CarbonCure and other green building technologies, and how purpose-driven leadership can define a company’s brand and legacy. 

NRMCA Industry-Wide Environmental Product Declaration for Concrete - NRMCA Director of Sustainability Initiatives Katie Poss and NRMCA Manager of Codes and Sustainability Programs Mathew Lemay will focus on the NRMCA IW-EPD and Benchmarks and how they are used to create concrete projects with a lower environmental and carbon footprint.
