NRMCA Verifies Four EPDs in January 2023

NRMCA recently verified four system-level Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for NRMCA Producer members Centre Concrete, Tilcon Connecticut, Inc. and Mathews Ready Mix and non-member ready mix producer Milpitas Materials Company.

• For producer member Centre Concrete, public access to the EPD is available on the NRMCA EPD webpage as NRMCA EPD: 20076 Centre Concrete. This EPD reports the impacts for ready mixed concrete from one plant in State College, PA.
• For producer member Tilcon Connecticut, Inc., public access to the EPD is available on the NRMCA EPD webpage as NRMCA EPD: 20077 Tilcon Connecticut. This EPD reports the impacts for ready mixed concrete from five plants in Connecticut.
• For non-member producer Milpitas Materials Company, public access to the EPD is available on the NRMCA EPD webpage as NRMCA EPD: 20078 Milpitas Materials. This EPD reports the impacts for ready mixed concrete from one plant in the San Jose, CA, market.
• For producer member Mathews Ready Mix, public access to the EPD is available on the NRMCA EPD webpage as NRMCA EPD: 20079 Mathews Ready Mix. This EPD reports the impacts for ready mixed concrete from three plants in Northern California.

The EPDs above for Centre Concrete and Tilcon Connecticut were developed in consultation with and based on a software tool by Athena Sustainable Materials Institute. The EPDs for Milpitas Materials and Mathews Ready-Mix were developed in consultation with and based on a software tool by Climate Earth. Both software tools integrate LCA impacts within batch operating software to generate EPDs when desired. The software tools were reviewed and verified by Industrial Ecology Consultants. All EPDs above were verified by Ecoform, a verifier in NRMCA’s EPD program.
