NRMCA's Pave Ahead program hosted a booth at the International Trails Summit held earlier this month in Reno, NV. The summit, hosted by American Trails, is the largest gathering of all trail interests and occurs every two years to bring together trail and greenway advocates, managers, planners and users as well as tourism and business interests. This year’s event attracted over 900 attendees from 20 different countries who believe their combined voices are the best way to strengthen trails for everyone. NRMCA Directors, Local Paving, Greg Halsted, P.E., (seen here at left visiting with an attendee) and Don Clem, P.E., staffed the booth, meeting with prospective clients from all over the world.
Clem and Halsted also hosted a Trail Talk presentation titled Design and Construction of Concrete Surfaced Trails. The informal, hour-long roundtable event attracted 28 attendees who came to learn about and share their experience with concrete surfaced trails. The CP Tech Center Guide to Concrete Trails was used as a basis for discussion and to provide design and construction information while also highlighting case studies.
A special thanks goes to NRMCA Senior Vice President, Local Paving, Phil Kresge who developed materials specifically for this event and arranged for their delivery and return. The NRMCA Local Paving team is following up on leads generated from the summit.
