NRMCA Senior Director, Local Paving, Greg Halsted assisted the Northwest Cement Council (NCC) in its exhibit booth at both the Washington and Oregon chapters of the American Public Works Association Spring Conferences. The two conferences, held the week of April 24 in Tacoma, WA, and the week of May 1 in Bend, OR, collectively attracted approximately 800 public works personnel, record attendance for both events.
Attendees took part in over 50 technical sessions covering numerous tracks focused on all aspects of planning, design, construction, maintenance and sustainability. The NCC booth had a great deal of technical information on both cement and concrete applications for public works, including concrete overlays, cement-based pavement solutions, concrete trails, portland limestone cement and more. Traffic at the exhibit booth was lively, with numerous individuals stopping by for information or engaging in discussions about specific projects. Halsted also introduced attendees to NRMCA’s Build With Strength and Pave Ahead initiatives and discussed how attendees could benefit from the education and design assistance these programs offer.
