NRMCA Verifies EPDs for Three More Ready Mix Producers

NRMCA recently verified three system-level Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for NRMCA Producer members Anderson Concrete, J. G. MacLellan Concrete and Preferred Materials.

• Anderson Concrete Corp. – public access to the EPD is available on the NRMCA EPD webpage as NRMCAEPD: 20093 Anderson Concrete. This EPD reports the impacts for ready mixed concrete from two plants in the Columbus, OH, market.
• J. G. MacLellan Concrete Co., Inc. – public access to the EPD is available on the NRMCA EPD webpage as NRMCAEPD: 20094 Anderson Concrete. This EPD reports the impacts for ready mixed concrete from three plants in Massachusetts.
• Preferred Materials, Inc. - a CRH Company – public access to the EPD is available on the NRMCA EPD webpage as NRMCAEPD: 20096 Preferred Materials. This EPD reports the impacts for ready mixed concrete from five plants in the Jacksonville, FL, market.

Each of the above EPDs were developed in consultation with WAP Sustainability Consulting and based on the WAP Theta software tool. The software integrates LCA impacts within batch operating software to generate EPDs when desired. It was reviewed and verified by Industrial Ecology Consultants. EPDs for Anderson Concrete and J.G. MacLellan Concrete were verified by Industrial Ecology Consultants. The EPD for Preferred Materials was verified by Ecoform. Both are verifiers in NRMCA’s EPD program.
