NRMCA, Build With Strength Speak at Massachusetts Meeting of Energy Supply Stakeholders

Earlier this week, NRMCA Senior Director, Building Innovations, Frank Mruk, FAIA, spoke on the decarbonization in the concrete industry at the the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER) Leading By Example-Council Meeting at Fitchburg State University. DOER is an agency of the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs; it develops and implements policies and programs aimed at securing the adequacy, security, diversity and cost-effectiveness of the Commonwealth’s energy supply to create a clean, affordable and resilient energy future for all residents, businesses, communities and institutions.

Guest speakers also included Ryan Kingston (LBE), Andrea Love (Payette Architecture) and Jayne Lino (MASS CEC). The event focused on The Future of Construction: Embodied Carbon Reduction Policies and Strategies, Embodied Carbon Policies in MA and Beyond and Strategies to Reduce Embodied Carbon in Massachusetts Projects. Mruk said more than 50 Leading by Example Council Members attended the meeting.
