New Concrete Roundabouts Collateral Now Available

Two new promotional flyers focusing on concrete roundabouts are now available on pavehead.com. The first, Concrete Roundabouts, explains how concrete is better for roundabouts due to its ability to withstand the stresses from traffic better than flexible pavements. The second, a Concrete Results Project Profile, highlights a concrete roundabout constructed at Interstate 70 and Horizon Drive in Grand Junction, CO. Both pieces were developed in response to directives from the NRMCA Promotion Committee.

“As I’ve said before, our members speak and we deliver,” said Senior Vice President, Local Paving, Phil Kresge. “There were three markets targeted by our Promotion Committee following last year’s convention and these flyers fulfill the third request.” The other markets were Concrete Intersections and Concrete Overlays of Asphalt Intersections. Those promotional publications were released previously, as noted in the 8/23/23 and 1/31/24 issues of E-NEWS.

According to Kresge, there is still over $3 billion available through the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) program. Roundabout construction can play a vital role in developing SS4A Action Plans. FHWA estimates that there could be as many as 500 new roundabouts constructed annually.
