Florida University Hosts Concrete Exposure Day

Recently, the Civil Engineering Department at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) hosted a Concrete Exposure Day filled with a variety of speakers, including NRMCA Senior Director, Local Paving, Amanda Hult, and officials from the Florida Department of Transportation, the CP Tech Center, Rollcon, LLC and Argos. Hult presented on Industrial pavement design and PavementDesigner.org. A demonstration by Somero of its S-485 Laser Screed and NRMCA Producer member CEMEX provided a mixer truck (shown here), enabling attendees to have an upclose look at the ready mix placement.
The event was attended by many FGCU students as well as designers and municipalities from surrounding areas. Florida Concrete & Products Association’s Amy Wedel participated on the committee which organized the event.
