Build With Strength, Pennsylvania to Host Low Carbon Concrete Symposium

On Wednesday, May 15, NRMCA and the Pennsylvania Aggregates and Concrete Association will host Executing Low Carbon Concrete Symposium at the Toftrees Golf Resort in State College PA. The agenda will be as follows:
- 7:30 a.m. - Registration
- 8:15 a.m. - Welcome and Introductions
- 8:30 a.m. - PACA Presentation: Sustainable Concrete in Pennsylvania (.5 PHD)
- 9 a.m. - Developing and Building with ICF (Nudura) (1 PDH)
- 10 a.m. - EPDs Made Easy; NRMCA's Matthew Lemay (1 PDH)
- 11 a.m. - Type IL Cement; Clayton McCabe, Argos Cement, a Summit Materials company. TBD – Buzzi (1 PDH)
- Noon - Lunch; Solutions to Lower Your Carbon Footprint (Heidelberg Materials – Dominic Giovannucci) (1 PHD)
- 1 p.m. - NRMCA Concrete Carbon Calculator Tool, the use of an implementation of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and utilizing CTAC/Concrete Testing Adherence Collaboration. Ken Crank, PACA and Frank Mruk, NRMCA (1 PDH)
- 2 p.m. - Building with Sustainability in Mind (1 PDH); Low Carbon Concrete, PSU College of Engineering Research & Teaching Space; Centre Concrete, Rory McCoy, PSU; Facility Management Whiting Turner (TBD); UPMC, Mercy Center, and EPD and the Concrete Producer, Bryan Materials, Justin Bryan

Who should attend? Architects, engineers, general contractors, facility managers, building decision makers, owners and developers interested in learning about the economic benefits of building more sustainable structures. Six continuing education credits will be available.
