NRMCA participated in the 34th Annual National Fire and Emergency Services Symposium and Dinner held in late April in Washington, DC, and hosted by the Congressional Fire Services Institute (CFSI). As part of the symposium schedule of events, NRMCA Senior Vice President, Codes and Standards, Shamim Rashid-Sumar joined fellow CFSI members (seen here in front of the Capitol) to advocate for the Fire Grants and Safety Act (S.870). The proposed legislation includes reauthorization of the U.S. Fire Administration (USFA), the federal agency responsible for implementation and enforcement of codes and standards, and that also supports resilience in the built environment.
