NRMCA Announces New Chief Operating Officer

NRMCA has named Deborah Malone chief operating officer of the Association, effective Monday, June 17. Ms. Malone will be responsible for running NRMCA’s day-to-day operational activities that help drive value for membership and align with NRMCA’s mission. She will also be working across the organization to help identify and develop new revenue streams.
Ms. Malone has more than 30 years of association experience, much of it with the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). She began her career at NAHB supporting its grassroots lobbying efforts as a member of NAHB’s Federal Government Affairs Team. Prior to joining NAHB, Ms. Malone directed the membership, lobbying and operations needs of other Washington, DC-based trade associations. Her 30-year career at NAHB has provided her with experience in many critical association efforts, including implementing programs designed to advance the Association’s legislative priorities; growing the organization’s global presence and membership; and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Association’s technology needs. Ms. Malone was NAHB's chief operating officer for nearly 20 years, providing her the unique opportunity to work with the leadership at both the member and staff levels on a broad array of association priorities, including NAHB's governance process, strategic planning efforts, and all capital and facilities operations.
In her professinal career, Ms. Malone also has served as the secretariat of the International Housing Association which is comprised of associations from around the world that recognize the positive impacts of housing and are dedicated to advancing residential construction.
Ms. Malone earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Colorado College in political economics. She lives in Alexandria, VA, with her husband, Bill Tucker. She has two adult children, Kyra and Shelby, and a grandchild, Charlie.
