NRMCA Verifies Numerous New EPDs

In May and early June, NRMCA verified system-level Environmental Product Declarations covering 28 ready mixed concrete plants and one cement plant for the following producers: 

  • Raptor Materials, NRMCA Producer member - This EPD reports the impact for two ready mixed concrete mixes from a plant in Greeley, CO, and three mixes from a plant in Erie, CO. This EPD was developed in consultation with Sustainable Solutions Corporation and verified by Industrial Ecology Consultants. NRMCA EPD number 20143.
  • Heidelberg Materials, NRMCA Materials Division member - This EPD reports the impacts for five bulk cement mixes produced at the Mitchell Cement Plant and Terminal in Mitchell, IN. This EPD was developed in consultation with Athena Sustainable Materials Institute using the pre-verified GCCA software tool and verified by Labeling Sustainability. NRMCA EPD number 20144.
  • Boston Concrete - This EPD reports the impacts for ready mixed concrete from one plant in Lowell, MA. NRMCA EPD number 20145.
  • Jobe Materials - This EPD reports the impacts for ready mixed concrete from one plant in El Paso, TX. NRMCA EPD number 20146.
  • Nielson Construction & Materials, NRMCA Producer member - This EPD reports the impacts for ready mixed concrete from one plant in Price, UT. NRMCA EPD number 20147.
  • Smith Ready Mix, NRMCA Producer member - This EPD reports the impacts for ready mixed concrete from three plants in Indiana. NRMCA EPD number 20148.
  • R. K. Hall Construction, NRMCA Producer member - This EPD reports the impacts for ready mixed concrete from eight plants in Oklahoma and 10 plants in Texas. It also reports the impacts from one portable plant operating in Oklahoma and one operating in Texas. NRMCA EPD number 20149.

EPDs for Boston Concrete, Jobe Materials, Nielson Construction & Materials, Smith Ready Mix and R.K. Hall were developed in consultation with WAP Sustainability Consulting using the pre-verified Theta EPD software tool. The EPDs for Boston Concrete, Jobe Materials, Nielson Construction & Materials and Smith Ready Mix were verified by Emily B. Lorenz, P.E., an independent verifier in NRMCA’s program. The EPD for R. K. Hall Construction was verified by Industrial Ecology Consulting.
