NRMCA's Pave Ahead local paving division recently co-hosted two concrete seminars with the Ohio Concrete Association (OCA). The half-day events, held in Washington County Courthouse and Vermillion, were targeted toward county engineers and township officials. Agenda topics included Internal Curing of Bridge Decks, Flexible Concrete for Road Widening and Other Applications, Concrete Overlays of Asphalt Roundabouts and Intersections and Concrete Repair for Common Problems in Sidewalks and Slabs. Presenters included Jeremy Clinger and Chris Wittler of Premiere Concrete Admixtures; Warren Schlatter, P.E., Defiance County engineer; John DeSantis, Youngstown State University and Mike Mahoney, Euclid Chemical. OCA Senior Promotion Director Wayne Moening and Jim Barnhart, P.E., retired, also presented. NRMCA Senior Vice President, Local Paving, Phil Kresge also presented on Concrete Roundabout and Intersection Design and Cost Trends for Concrete and Other Construction Materials.

Approximately 30 engineers and municipal officials attended each of the seminars. All the presentations were well received and were followed by good, interactive question and answer sessions, Kresge said.
