NRMCA’s Lionel Lemay and Brandon Wray presented Sustainable Concrete: How to Reduce, Quantify and Specify Carbon to over 400 structural engineers via webinar on July 24. The session examined how early collaborative decision‐making and the use of performance‐based specifications can empower project teams to include embodied carbon targets alongside cost, performance and schedule to create a holistic bidding and procurement process that supports sustainability goals. The presentation focused on establishing a carbon budget for projects using NRMCA’s Concrete Carbon Calculator. The webinar, delivered on Structure magazine’s continuing education platform, was sponsored by NRMCA’s Build With Strength initiative.
