Patience and the ability to deal with stress are key virtues when it comes to being a mixer driver, says Fernando Pereira, a driver with Lafarge North America who operates from the company's Milton, Ontario, plant. He cited the sometimes frustrating traffic conditions and long waits at job sites as two prime concerns. And though there's physical demands, the job is more mentally draining, says Pereira.
