North Dakota Senator Predicts Highway Bill Passage by June 30
There might be light at the end of a long, dark tunnel that represents the prospects of passing a highway funding bill. Sen. John Hoeven (R-ND) predicts that the House and Senate will agree on a long-term surface transportation bill by June 30, when current funding runs out. The member of a House-Senate highway bill conference committee said passage is tied to the controversial Keystone XL pipeline. The House has passed its highway bill, which authorizes programs through September.
