Canadian Researcher Explores Concrete Manufacturing’s Carbon Footprint
Marrying the waste of one process into the production cycle of another related product could be another big step in reducing the carbon footprint of concrete manufacturing. McGill University civil engineering associate professor Yixin Shao is working to capture and sequester carbon dioxide from the cement manufacturing process and inject it into the curing cycle of concrete masonry blocks and concrete board.
