Australian Research Team Develops Concrete That's Bomb Resistant
High resistance, high performance concrete that can withstand a bomb blast has been developed by an engineering team at the University of Adelaide in Australia. The new concrete "possesses remarkable compressive and tensile properties, surpassing conventional concrete materials," according to this article. It "possess five times the ability of conventional concretes to withstand compressive force, 10 times the ability to withstand the tensile stress produced by stretching or pulling," explains Marc Howe.
