In 2011, a John Elway Chevrolet spokesman stated that Elway had committed his dealerships to becoming the greenest auto dealers in Colorado by minimizing their environmental impact. Some elements of their overall program are to reduce lighting, improve stormwater runoff quality and reduce maintenance with better life cycle cost material. Overlaying their existing asphalt with concrete is part of their overall plan. An added benefit of the concrete is the lighter, brighter background for displaying automobiles.
Dave Gray with NRMCA member GCC Cement in Denver convinced the Elway management last week to allow him on top of the dealership building to shoot video of the project's final phase along with the photo shown above.
