Canadian Concrete Producer Places Side Guards on Truck Fleet
North America is one of the few places where trucks do not require side guards so that pedestrians and cyclists don't get crushed under the wheels when the truck turns. Canadian concrete company Innocon is doing something about it by putting side guards on its trucks and a special nylon guard between the rear wheels, which it calls the Guardian. Fleet Manager Andy Ludwick, the man spending $915 per truck doesn't blame anyone. He just hopes everyone does this. "It's better to have it and not need it than not have it and need it, right?"
