Texas City Converts Roads to Concrete from Asphalt
Construction on the concrete makeover of several Humble, TX, roads recently began as part of the city’s 2016 Concrete Pavement Improvement Plan. Asphalt-paved roads will be converted to 6 inches of concrete pavement. Curbs on some streets and intersections will also be converted. Construction is expected to conclude in early 2018 and provide more long-term solutions for Humble infrastructure, said Public Works Director Barry Brock. "[Asphalt] is good for 15-20 years and [concrete] is good for 40-50 years," Brock said.
