Nevada Concrete Group Is Briefed on Build with Strength Initiative
Last week, NRMCA Vice President of Sustainability Tien Peng presented the Build with Strength building promotion campaign to the renewed Southern Nevada Cement and Aggregate Association (SNCAA). The association, on hiatus for several years, has regrouped in order to protect the existing concrete market in southern Nevada as well as counter the growing wood threat in mid-rise construction. Peng offered opportunities to engage local policy makers with local advocacy and developers through NRMCA’s Design Assistance program. He also updated the group of on NRMCA’s sustainability initiatives to address the significant changes to LEED v4.
Peng was invited to address the SNCAA by Tom Tietz, executive director of the California Nevada Cement Association, to help the re-formed group better understand the current marketplace. Build with Strength supports our members with resources to help members and state affiliates advocate for resilient construction, including model legislation, talking points, public relations and other key strategies.
