NRMCA Discusses Pervious Concrete Before New Jersey Audience
NRMCA Senior Director, Local Paving, Ken Justice, PE, recently spoke about the design and benefits of pervious concrete at the New Jersey Pervious Pavements seminar held at the Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation (CAIT) at Rutgers University in New Brunswick. Representatives of the concrete, asphalt and paver industry as well as municipal engineers and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection also spoke about their experiences with pervious pavements. Over 65 consulting and municipal engineers were in attendance, as well as numerous industry representatives. The event’s moderator, David R. Smith, technical director of the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute said, "Based on the attached evaluations, it appears the participants learned much from the presentations."
The event was held at the home of the New Jersey Local Transportation Assistance Program (LTAP) center. The state LTAP for New Jersey, based at Rutgers’ CAIT, trains approximately 7,000 transportation professionals each year.
