NRMCA Senior Vice President, Local Paving, Julie Buffenbarger was moderator of the "Stormwater Management with Permeable Surface Solutions Workshop" hosted at RPM International headquarters in Medina, OH, on Friday, October 28. The full-day(
seen here) workshop was delivered to a sold-out audience of over 110 engineers, planners and other decision makers. The program, underwritten by an Ohio Environmental Education Fund grant, was co-developed among NRMCA, the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, Chagrin River Watershed Partners and the city of Cleveland’s Office of Sustainability. Topics included Site Planning, Hydrological Performance of Permeable Pavements, Permeable Pavement Design, Porous, Pervious and Permeable Pavements, Installation of Permeable Systems, Lessons Learned, Vegetative Roofs and Roofing BMPs for Low Impact Development, Pervious Maintenance Needs, Methods and Practices, and Pervious Maintenance and Cleaning. Ken Justice, NRMCA senior director, local paving, was a featured speaker at this conference, explaining the benefits of pervious concrete.
