The green building movement continues to gain momentum as developers, government agencies and designers build structures to minimize environmental impact. NRMCA will host training sessions to build industry awareness with architects, engineers, contractors and others to:
• Understand the environmental attributes of concrete and structures through a life cycle perspective;
• Discuss conventional cast-in-place frames, insulating concrete forms and sandwich panels;
• Explore the thermal properties of concrete and their contribution to passive solar design;
• Reduce the environmental impact of concrete by recycling concrete and by reducing its carbon footprint; and
• Explore concrete’s contribution to LEEDv4.
This course will feature a review of LEED v4, which is radically different than previous versions, and details on how concrete contributes to this new standard. This is a 4-part series where participation in each is required to achieve CEUs.
Title: Building Green with Concrete

Time: 1 to 2 p.m. Eastern time
11/14/17 - Part 1: Environmental Attributes of Concrete
11/15/17 - Part 2: Energy Performance of Concrete Structures
11/16/17 - Part 3: Prioritizing the Environment with Concrete
11/17/17 - Part 4: Concrete and LEED v4
This course is intended for architects, engineers, developers and contractors. Participants who successfully complete each part of this course will be credited with 6 AIA-CEUs. Click here to access each registration link from NRMCA's Web site. After registering, you will receive a confirmation e-mail containing information about joining the Webinar. *Note that sessions will be recorded in the event you cannot participate in one or more.
As part of the Build with Strength campaign, NRMCA promotes sustainable concrete solutions for buildings. This course prepares NRMCA members to compete in the green building marketplace and trends toward product and company transparency (link to Strength through Transparency) in the green building standards and rating systems such as LEED v4.
