A push on Parking Lot Boot Camps at the NRMCA Convention in Houston earlier this month was a considerable success, reports Jon Hansen, senior vice president, local paving.
“Over eight companies and promotion groups have expressed interest in hosting a Boot Camp since the convention and of those eight, two have committed to dates in March and April. A seminar in Kansas with paving team member Ken Justice late last month has a contractor and producer that attend the seminar committed for later this year. It is not too early to get your Parking Lot Boot Camp on the calendar for 2018 to secure a slot in what appears to be our biggest year ever for Boot Camps,” Hansen said.
NRMCA Parking Lot Boot Camps is a 10-hour program, typically conducted over two days at the contractor or producer’s site. Parking Lot Boot Camps create a team approach for producer and contractor to pursue parking lot opportunities in their service market, be they new parking lot construction or concrete overlays of asphalt parking lots. The program has become widely successful in helping everyone, producer and contractor, expand their business into paving markets that they normally did not have, or only had a small percentage of. Parking Lot Boot Camps are conducted by the NRMCA Local Paving Team
