On Monday, January 28, NRMCA and other members of the North American Concrete Alliance (NACA) hosted a meet and greet for members of the House Transportation and Infrastructure (T&I) Committee. More than 15 members of Congress attended as well as staff from dozens of offices. The NRMCA Government Affairs team was able to discuss important issues relating to Hours of Service, the Electronic Logging Device mandate, federal infrastructure investment, resilient construction and workforce development with several of NRMCA’s congressional champions, including co-chairs of the Ready Mixed Concrete Caucus Reps. Rodney Davis (R-IL) and Scott Perry (R-PA), as well as new members of the committee including Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-MI), Rep. Pete Stauber (R-MN) and Rep. John Joyce (R-PA).
With its expansion to 67 members, the House T&I Committee is the largest committee in Congress, split between 37 Democrats and 30 Republicans. Of its 67 members, 24 are new to the committee – 16 new Democrats and 8 new Republicans.
