The 2022 Mixer Driver Recruitment and Retention Survey Report and Executive Summary can now be accessed and downloaded on NRMCA’s website. The 114-page full report covers separation, turnover and related trends, basic demographic data, staffing levels and retention rates. It also analyzes recruitment methods, hiring rates, their trends and challenges. The full report breaks down data by region and company size over a five-year period. The 14-page Executive Summary analyzes five-year national trends.
This year’s key finding revealed the industry followed the U.S. workforce 2021 trend, dubbed the “Year of the Great Resignation.” While the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported the national quit rate at 25%, the ready mixed concrete industry had a 28% mixer driver quit rate. The turnover rate increased for the fifth year, this year to 38.2%.
We cannot thank the 166 (anonymous) companies enough for helping us produce a report that collected stats on 29% of our mixer driver population. General or specific survey insights are most welcome. Please reach out to Eileen Dickson.
