NRMCA/Build With Strength Director, Building Innovations, Justin McCain partnered with the Oklahoma Ready Mixed Concrete Association and NRMCA Producer member Dolese Bros. Co. at the 2023 Education Leadership Conference in Oklahoma City. The conference is held by the Oklahoma State School Board Association and The Cooperative Council for Oklahoma Schools Administrators and is considered the premier training and networking opportunity for Oklahoma school board members, superintendents and school administrators. The event was held on August 24 – 26 at the Oklahoma City Convention Center and was attended by approximately 2,000 attendees.
ORMCA, Dolese and NRMCA sponsored a booth, engaged with hundreds of attendees and promoted the use of concrete through building high performance, disaster resilient and energy efficient schools, McCain said. The primary concrete systems promoted were insulated concrete forms and composite concrete floors. Discussions also took place on how concrete can reduce overall carbon emissions and improve the built environment. Attendees were all key decision makers in the construction of schools and included school board members, superintendents, engineers, architects and general contractors. Attendees also showed strong interest in the Build With Strength Concrete Design Center which helps select the right concrete structural systems for buildings that would have otherwise been constructed with other building materials.
