Pave Ahead Assists California City on Concrete Pavement Project

NRMCA Senior Director, Local Paving, Greg Halsted recently assisted Clay Slocum, director of engineering with the California Nevada Cement Association (CNCA), on a QA/QC presentation regarding an upcoming  parkway extension for the city of Roseville, CA, northwest of Sacramento. The June 25 meeting was comprised of city engineers and project construction management team members with Halsted and Slocum covering all aspects of conventional concrete pavement construction, including mix design, placing, curing, jointing and testing. They tried to ensure that all participants were on the same page to have a successful project completion.

Halsted said Roseville is a regional innovator when it comes to concrete pavement, having recently completed a major and highly successful roller-compacted concrete pavement project. He and Slocum assured city officials that they would be with them every step of the way on their latest concrete endeavor while also emphasizing the assistance available through NRMCA's Pave Ahead program and CNCA.
