NRMCA recently completed a specification review for the Ohio-based architectural/engineering firm Garmann-Miller. Executive Vice President, Engineering, Colin Lobo and Senior Director, Building Innovations, Donn Thompson assisted Senior Vice President, Local Paving, Phil Kresge in reviewing the Cast-in-Place Concrete section of Garmann-Miller’s standard specification. The specification was brought to NRMCA by Ohio Concrete Association (OCA) Senior Promotion Director Wayne Moening.
A significant amount of the recommended changes addressed sustainability – in particular, embodied carbon and life cycle assessments. Additionally, updates and corrections were recommended to specific technical and materials references, and American Concrete Institute (ACI) and ASTM International documents.
