NRMCA’s Think Like an Owner course, offered during the upcoming Spring Semester, is a fitting choice for learners occupying financial management positions within their organizations; those interested in improving their business acumen to grow as an RMC leader and anyone aiming to improve the RMC industry. This course is designed to counsel Producer members regarding various strategies which can increase profits and prevent losses without showing preference for any specific approach.

The estimated ready mixed concrete produced in December 2024 was 24.8 million cubic yards, 6.7% lower than in December 2023. The estimated production in the U.S. in 2024 is 377 million cubic yards, approximately 5.7% lower than in 2023. Ready mixed concrete production is estimated from cement shipments reported by the U.S. Geological Survey. ![]() Last week, NRMCA Senior Director, Building Innovations, Frank Mruk participated in the One Vision-Maximizing Impact Across AEC workshop held at the National Building Museum in Washington, DC, as part of the American Institute of Archtects' (AIA) Leadership Summit. The event, with the subtitle Unified Vision is Strength, included leaders from NRMCA and AIA in addition to USGBC, ASHRAE, AGC, ACSA, CMA, DBIA, AIAS, IBHS, RICS, EPD, CSI, NOMA, INHS and STI. The results of the brainstorming workshop will be published in a couple of weeks. During the summit, Mruk also participated in AIA meetings held with Massachusetts state legislators on Capitol Hill promoting resilient design. Registration for NRMCA’s Spring Safety Course to be held in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, May 5 - 7 is now open. This 2.5-day course teaches participants about OSHA safety compliance, beginning with why safety is so important and details the reasons why an effective safety program actually saves money through loss prevention and control. Participants learn about the silica rule, electrical safety, machine guarding, fall protection, hazard communication, confined spaces, personal protective equipment, emergency action plans, maintenance shop safety, chute handling and much more.
