 NRMCA is offering its information-packed, one-day course, Handling Concrete Specifications, Low Strength Problems and Mixture Submittals, intended for concrete producers, contractors, engineers and testing labs on Wednesday, February 27 in Milwaukee in association with the Wisconsin Ready Mixed Concrete Association. This one-day course will discuss the latest changes to the code and specification requirements (ACI 318, 301, ASTM C94) governing ready mixed concrete.

The National Concrete Pavement Technology Center recently completed a 5-year project funded by the Federal Highway Administration to provide information on the latest in concrete pavement technology, knowledge, and innovation to the state highway agencies. The project supports FHWA’s program goal of Accelerated Implementation and Deployment of Pavement Technologies. The results of this effort are documented in two summary documents that facilitate sharing of various project findings and help state agencies manage concrete pavement resources more efficiently. The focus involved promoting better performance in the following areas:

• Sustainability aspects of concrete pavements and materials;

• Preservation and maintenance techniques for concrete pavements;

• Long-life concrete pavements;

• Innovative concrete materials; and

• New technologies and advancements in concrete pavement placement.
