Association & Industry News
NRMCA represents the Producer members that place more than half of all the ready mixed concrete in the United States. Associate members can leverage their company’s NRMCA membership dues while reaching an important customer base through NRMCA’s Member 2 Member (M2M) Benefits Program. The program works with participating Associate members to spread the word to Producer members about special “Members Only” rebates, discount pricing and other M2M incentives offered. Your participation not only adds value to your NRMCA membership, it also adds value for your Producer customers by helping them save on the goods and services they need, effectively giving them more buying power.

Thanks to Peter Deem, a former Holcim executive and NRMCA Board member, and a Denver area Realtor®, the January 13 edition of the Denver Post included an advertorial about concrete homes. Following the devastating Marshall fire where over 1,000 homes were lost, the article presented a concrete home as a better way to rebuild given the environmental conditions in Boulder County. Information on ICF's was supplied by NRMCA Senior Director, Building Innovations, Chris Dagosta and his colleague Don Clem, vice president, local paving. The article referenced the Habitat for Humanity of Teller County townhouse project (ICF construction), which was a joint venture between the Colorado Ready Mixed Concrete Association and NRMCA's Build With Strength initiative. For more information, contact Chris Dagosta at cdagosta@nrmca.org. The New York Chapter of the American Institute of Architects along with Build With Strength and the New York Construction Materials Association have scheduled a webinar titled Top Top 10 Ways to Reduce Concrete's Carbon Footprint for Thursday, February 3, from noon to 1 p.m. Eastern time. As demand for building construction continues to increase, it is likely the demand for concrete will also increase. Like all building products, however, concrete has a carbon footprint. This course will analyze the top 10 strategies to take advantage of concrete’s benefits while ensuring the lowest possible carbon footprint. NRMCA Senior Director, Building Innovations, Doug O’Neill is the presenter for this webinar. He has more than 30 years of experience educating the marketplace on all things concrete, including applications, design methodology and its sustainable attributes.
