Engineering
Earlier this month, NRMCA Engineering Staff traveled to Seattle to attend the ASTM meeting of Committees C09 on Concrete, C01 on Cement, and E05 on Fire. The following is a summary of action with ready mixed concrete implications.

Revisions to the specification for mineral fillers, ASTM C1797, to remove a requirement to measure total organic carbon will be balloted. The subcommittee continues to work on simplifying the deleterious material limit for coarse aggregates and to possibly remove the map representing weather regions in the U.S.

Learning & Development
The Concrete Sales Professional Certification classes celebrate their 25th anniversary in 2022. Class content was developed, and continually revised, to not only provide sales tools that drive revenue but to set job standards and performance expectations. All four classes will be held in Dallas over a six-month period; Dallas was selected because it is centrally located to much of the U.S. with two large airports near the class location. Class registration is now open for each class. Please note that each class stands alone so classes do not have to be taken consecutively; nevertheless, it is recommended (click on each title to learn more about the content and register). • Module 1: Concrete 101 - October 18-21 For more information, contact Jessica Walgenbach at jwalgenbach@nrmca.org.
