NRMCA and Build With Strength's Donn C. Thompson, senior director, building innovations, and Brandon Wray, director, building innovations, will conduct a webinar titled Insulating Concrete Forms for Commercial Construction, on Wednesday, December 14, at 1 p.m. Eastern time. This presentation will address how the thermal properties of ICFs, combining the high R-value of rigid insulation with the thermal mass of concrete, offer building owners significant energy savings over the long term. The presentation will also provide guidance on how to minimize the cost of ICF construction to take full advantage of these benefits, resulting in investments that are secure and generate long-term value. Click here to register, which is free. The webinar is being presented in conjunction with STRUCTURE magazine.
NRMCA has released a new Best Practices template titled Stay Interview Questionnaire that is now available for free download on NRMCA’s website. Stay interviews are conducted by an employee’s direct supervisor and/or HR staff to improve retention. The goal is to find out why employees stay and what might cause them to leave. In an effective stay interview, structured questions are asked in a casual and conversational manner. Most stay interviews take less than 10 minutes. NRMCA’s Workforce Development Committee's Retention Task Group now has five HR Best Practices templates; the other four are Employee Check in 2 Weeks, Employee Check in 60 Days, Exit Interview and Layoff/Severance Considerations. Each of the five can be downloaded free here. For more information, contact Eileen Dickson at edickson@nrmca.org. Learning & Development
