Learning & Development
In the midst of performance review season, remember to tap into NRMCA’s STEPS© workforce development program for your mid-level staff. STEPS© is a device to plan long-term ready mixed concrete careers for individual employees while also acting as a retention tool for employers. The program requires prerequisite knowledge - NRMCA's core courses - along with a wide range of electives from local state associations or other professional development programs. When the requirements are met, the person is conferred an all-encompassing, nationally recognized certification, CCPf. By unanimous vote, NRMCA’s Board of Directors put this career path program in motion 15 years ago. They broke it into three focus areas, Concrete Technology, Operations & Production and Sales. Click here to learn more; the staff contact is Eileen Dickson. Both 2023 professional development classes for sales reps will be held in Dallas, a good travel location when winter and early spring weather can be dicey. Additionally, if registration is complete by December 31, your company can take the course fee as a 2022 expense. The schedule is as follows: • Module 3: RMC Business Knowledge, February 14 - 16 – Content is an overview of critical business concepts used in the RMC business, focusing on RMC job cost analysis. Assure your reps know the factors to price a job profitably without solely relying on a plug-and-chug software program. Click here for more information. Each class stands alone so it does NOT have to be taken consecutively or collectively. Additionally, these are the required courses in the STEPS® Sales and Promotion certification program where those in the field earn the industry's most prestigious capstone certification, the CCPf.
