LEED v5 is in public comment period until May 20 and NRMCA and the Concrete Sustainability Council (CSC) are looking for the concrete industry to provide input. Concrete is well represented in the standard in nearly every category, with new credits for resilience, water conservation, urban heat islands and embodied carbon reduction. However, there are a few credits that could be improved, including optimized materials (responsible sourcing) and energy credits. NRMCA and CSC are providing comments to the new standard, and we would like the concrete industry to help by also providing comments. Join us for a webinar on Tuesday, May 14, from 11 a.m. to noon Eastern time to learn how you can help. Panelists include:

The NRMCA Engineering Department has updated the NRMCA Pre‐Construction Checklist – Concrete Acceptance Testing and the PowerPoint presentation Code and Standards Requirements For Acceptance Testing along with the accompanying notes. The checklist now includes onsite monitoring of field concrete testing and enforcement of initial curing requirements through an inspection process. These resources, as well as allied documents, are available here. They can be used to ensure that acceptance testing conforms to industry codes and standards, an important step toward attaining low carbon concrete.
