Last week, NRMCA Senior Director, Building Innovations, Frank Mruk moderated a panel discussion at the HUB in Boston for the RMI, NRDC, NRMCA and the White House-sponsored Eastern U.S. Low-Carbon Concrete Convening. The panel, Dispatches from the Front Line - Low Carbon Concrete Solutions in the Northeast, included Ben Myers (BXP), Jim Carreira (Boston Sand and Gravel), Patrick Grasso (Urban Mining), Rouzbeh Savary (C-Crete), Craig Dauphinais (MaCAPA) and Beverly Craig (MassCEC). Other speakers included Anish Tilak (RMI), James Hove (White House CEQ), Justina Gallegos (White House OSTP), Charlie Martin (GSA), Lionel Lemay (NRMCA) and Don Davies (Davies-Crooks Associates). Last week, NRMCA Senior Director, Building Innovations, Frank Mruk and Ohio Concrete Promotions Director Ryan McAleer presented Leveraging the Properties of Concrete in Net Zero Buildings at the 2024 REBUILD Conference at Cincinnati’s TQL Stadium (home of FC Cincinnati, a major league soccer team). The REBUILD conference focused on the challenges faced by the design community and included keynote speakers from world class design firms, real world case studies and informative panel discussions. The conference offered attendees a personal exchange of high performance and sustainable buildings' best practices. More than 250 AEC professionals attended the event. The Build With Strength program is a leader in supporting AEC professionals in the crafting of high-performance, energy-efficient concrete buildings. Concrete Innovations Session 25, Low-Carbon Concrete Strategies, will be held Wednesday, October 16, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Eastern time.
