For the first time the Concrete Council of St. Louis, in partnership with the Illinois Ready Mix Concrete Association, exceeded 4,000 contact hours in 2024, promoting concrete through multiple in-person events, seminars, inhouse training and other personal contact promotion activities, reports NRMCA Senior Director, Building Innovations, Donn Thompson. (Seen here is full attendance at the annual Concrete Pavement Seminar held earlier this year in Fenton, MO.) Along with regular in-house presentations, the groups offered several annual seminars, including the Concrete Pavement Seminar, Professional Engineers Seminar, the new Concrete Inspection Seminar, programs for various owner and designer groups, and other educational opportunities. Event evaluations continue to provide very favorable feedback to speakers and topics, Thompson said. Along with staff engineer Jesse Jonas PE, the affiliates have called upon national experts, agency management, NRMCA, CP Tech Center, concrete technology experts and others from around the world to bring outstanding content, credibility and value to these cooperative promotional efforts. “We are especially grateful to NRMCA for our years of partnership on these events, presentations and for all that they bring to our concrete promotion efforts,” said Oliver Dulle, executive director of the Concrete Council of St. Louis.
